The Rugged Reader from In-Situ is a multi-functional data collection and monitoring tool built to stand up to the harshest environmental conditions. Water- and dustproof to IP-67 standards, capable of withstanding humidity, vibration, altitude and shock, and easy to operate when wearing personal protective clothing, the In-Situ Rugged Reader was designed with field technicians in mind. It features intuitive interfacing with all your LevelTROLL®, BaroTROLL® and other In-Situ devices, effectively eliminating the need to bring a delicate laptop or tablet computer with you into the field.

The Rugged Reader represents In-Situ's most technologically advanced data collection device yet. The unit incorporates a number of features not found on competing products, including WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, a pressure-sensitive touchscreen with handwriting recognition, a voice recorder for taking memos and more.
Technical Specifications
- Processor:Two processors are available delivering speeds of 300 or 520 MHz, both of which are built on the Intel® XScale® PXA270 platform.
- Memory:The Rugged Reader uses non-volatile Flash memory with a storage capacity of 128 MB.
- Operating system:Rugged Reader uses the Microsoft® Windows Mobile® 5 operating system; OS data is stored securely in the unit's Flash memory, protecting it from accidental deletion.
- Applications:Internet Explorer, Word, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Outlook® and ActiveSync® are all included. In-Situ's proprietary Win-Situ® Mobile, Pocket-Situ, Win-Situ® Sync and HydroPlus CE® provide plug-and-play connectivity with all In-Situ devices.
- Expansion capabilities:Use the included CF or SD slots to add more memory to the In-Situ Rugged Reader or to integrate GPS, cameras, barcode scanners and other optional devices.
