Great to be back at BEST Conference 2022!

Recently, The British Columbia Environment Industry Association (BCEIA) held the first Bettering Environmental Stewardship and Technology Conference (BEST) in three years as an “in person event”.  On May 25-27, Mike Kunyk and Alex Dumitrescu travelled to the town of Whistler, BC for a series of technical sessions, networking opportunities, and exhibition.

Alex had this to say about the event:

“From my point of view as a sponsor and exhibitor, I saw significant opportunity to rekindle old connections with the people I have been communicating with only remotely, interrupted by the years of COVID separation. It was a joy to have the opportunity to have tactile discussions about our instrumentation solutions with contacts hungry for the ability to see the equipment outside of a webinar environment. The BCEIA event definitely provided the ideal setting to make many new connections as well, both in terms of personal introductions and in some cases, new technologies I had not been exposed to prior.”

Mike added

“The energy in the event was tremendous.  It was great to see how many of our customers, partners, and friends have grown through the challenges of the past few years.  Whether it was listening to the sessions ranging in topic from PFOS to In-Situ Remediation, the excellent keynote speakers (Chantal Hébert and Eric Termuende) or the great conversations with the many drillers, consultants and environmental professionals that were there, we certainly had the ability to engage with the industry.

Unfortunately, due to an onset of stupidity mixed with old age, I was unable to join the Mountain Bike ride and was resigned to doing my best lamp-pole impersonation at our booth.  I would like to thank everyone who shared a laugh and a good conversation to help better my spirit! As always, the staff at the Fairmont were excellent, the board from BCEIA put on an excellent event with the help from the crew at TL2.

Last but not least, we hope that everyone we engaged with got a little bit of value out of our conversations and we’re looking forward to continuing the conversations throughout the coming days.”
